Every Place I ever Lived

Nothing could be finer than
to be born and raised in Carolina,
North, that is.

Years of travel overseas
in another language, thanks and please.
Back to America, a child in each hand.
Birthed them both in Deutschland.

Home again to sacred soil.
In the Land of Lincoln farmers toil.
Gateway to the West.
Was this the place I loved the best?

Several years we’d play,
sailing along Chesapeake Bay.
A dog and a cat here and there.
Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer.

Intermingled through the years
midst laughter, love and tears,
family vacations at the beach.
Stretched to see how far we could reach.
Shined so brightly in the night
dear old Hatteras light.

Boating, fishing, sands of white
stars twinkle in black of night.
Life was great
in the Sunshine state.

Home again, home again
frog a leap, frog a leap.
Back to Carolina, but not in a jeep.

Every place I ever lived was
the best place I ever lived.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
