By the Next Full Moon

think back ... some of you may remember
trees began to fall in late September
in October, we laid the foundation
so excited ... such great anticipation
by the time November came
we were well into the game
December brought the bricks, the cold and rain
ever-changing scenes on Granny Trail Lane
how quickly January came and went
thanks so much to our builder named Kent
he and his boys are the greatest, you see
they're building this house for my family and me
memories of February all a blur; through tear stained eyes
we buried our little dog, Fred; God heard our cries
today on the first day of Spring
such wonder and amazement it did bring
the LORD brought us flurries of snow
our electrician made our house all aglow
turned on the lights and sent the darkness out
the rank of Life was earned by our Boy Scout
if the good LORD's willing, it will be soon
we'll be in our new home by the next full moon!!

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
