This Poet's Native Land

in the beginning, no beauty did I see
brought forth naked as could be
created by God above
nurtured by Mother's love
taught about things of beauty
a pleasure to learn - not a duty
more precious than outward beauty is beauty within
beauty within the world inside my mind
is a beauty of a different kind
how will you know; how will you hear of it
I can tell you about the beauty of a gentle spirit
tell you God's love illuminates my world
describe the beauty of wings unfurled
in my world, God abides in me and I in Him
more beautiful than this world's most precious gem
as I stroll through my world, I walk in love
constantly in labor keeping thoughts clean as a white dove
lovely peace in the world inside my mind
is a peace I pray you, too will find
all the beauty I see was created by God's hand
beauty abounds in this poet's native land

Isaiah 51:7
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation....

Author's note: It is my Christmas prayer that as you absorb the above message you will experience an indescribable peace in your heart and mind today as never before. May God bless you and yours. Merry Christmas 2006

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
