Don't Stay Too Long

you may have lost a beloved pet

certainly one you'll never forget

it is said, " 't is better to have loved and lost

than never to have loved at all"

God plans ahead for your blessings

maybe today a kitten or pup is being born

who will one day help you from feeling forelorn

yes, we sometimes stay in a state of grief ~

but, don't stay too long.....

I know the pain and separation death can cause

grieve, remember, honor and take time to pause

some poor soul out there needs to be loved

you CAN be a blessing to someone else

reach out to one who is hurting

comfort them and you will be blessed

be brave and let God take care of  the rest

grief is a sad and lonely place ~

but, don't stay too long.....

open your heart and mind

to a love of a different kind

love the Lord your God with all your heart

and all your soul and with all your strength

and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself

it is said, "one can give without loving,

but is is impossible to love without giving"

it's easier to stay in your comfort zone~

but, don't stay too long.....

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
