Azul

in celebration of Azul

your life sparkles as that of a rare jewel

you were born because of Mario and Aurora's love

bundle of joy sent from God above

with us now fifteen years

great accomplishments; sharing laughter, love and tears

family and friends come from near and far today

to honor you in a special way

you can achieve whatever you aspire

persevere even when you tire

though you're still a teen

remember the wisdom of parents to glean

beautiful angelic voice

to be a singer may be your choice

perhaps a career in the medical field

above all, keep God as your shield

beautiful and sweet as a yellow rose

the light from within you softly glows

may God bless you and keep you

a good child, faithful and true

Author's note:  Azul was born in Patagonia and it is a custom to have a grand party for a young lady as she turns 15 years old.  She celebrates her birthday in a few days and was honored at an amazing party tonight.  It was a party I'll always remember.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
