My Eternal Flame

my soulful existence perpetual,

soul's embers lingering

it awaits heavenly intervention

words spoken, encourage

sparks combust - ignition

flame glowing relentless, incessantly

Author's Note: This rhopalic verse was inspired by two individuals, Reason A. Poteet  for her timely comment and link to a poetic site and to Michele Filitti for her email today thanking me for Nan's Calendar and how she is encouraged after reading my heartfelt devotionals.  You both fan the sparks of the smouldering embers of my eternal flame.  Thank you so much!

Nan's Calendar began three years ago today in handwritten form in my journal of inspirational quotes and special Bible verses.  God is good all the time and all the time God is good!

Rhopalic Verse

This form of poetry can be very deceptive.  Though it appears simple in nature, it takes much thought to create a finished poem pleasing to the poet's ear and soul.  The syllables are one, two, three and so on.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
