He Took It All To Heart
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

I remember as a child
on Sunday morning
sitting there beside her
as she bowed her head in prayer
I remember the preacher's sermons
as he spoke about my Savior
of His birth, His life, and His death
and I took it all to heart
yes, I took it all to heart
that a man so divine, so beloved
and yet, so hated
He bore my sins and He died for me
He bore my sins and He died for me
Jesus understood His mission
to fulfill the Law and the prophets
He cried, "Father, into Your hands I commit my Spirit"
as He took His last breath and died
He took it all to heart
Jesus took it all to heart
Now He sits at the right hand
of the Lord, my God
He took it
He took it all to heart
We would all well if we take it
if we take it all to heart
I will spend eternity loving Him, loving Him
'cause I took it all to heart
yes, I took it all to heart
because Jesus took it
He took it all to heart
Jesus took it
He took it all to heart

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
