Are You Ready Yet?

well in advance I began to prepare
just a little here and a little there
such a busy schedule....not much time to devote
not completely close - yet, not remote
searching daily trying to find
answers to the questions in my mind
some days more productive than others
days are best spent helping sisters and brothers
closer now than I've ever been
praise be to God - He forgives all sin
I'm gettin' ready to leave this world
one day - with wings unfurled
I'll meet my Heavenly Maker
are you a giver or a taker
today's a great day to start gettin' ready
lean upon God - He'll hold you steady
don't make a mistake you'll forever regret
think about it --- are you ready yet?

1 Corinthians 2:9-10
....as it is written: "no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him" but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.

Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
