Fluff -n- Stuff

Fluff-n-Stuff

let's face it - we have lots of stuff

call it what you will - stuff or fluff

the more we have the more we want

we continue to add to the stash

"get rid of all the excess baggage"

is a well known sage adage

some of our stuff is material, some mental

we hold onto it so long it's hard to let go

our fluff and stuff may be costly or cheap

when we give it to God - oh, the benefits we reap

treasures far beyond earthly means of measure

these treasures God is waiting to deliver

all this mental baggage we must remove

give it to God and life will be more smooth

close your eyes and open your hand

it's important - this expression of trust

hand over to God all the cheap imitations

in return, He gives genuine treasures, not simulations

trust me, your efforts will not be in vain

hand it over - close your eyes and open your hand

Matthew 6:19-21

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
