Wrapped in the Arms of Love

Wrapped in the Arms of Love

in harmony with God as I walked the track

stretching my muscles and strengthening my back

a thought occured and God's  message I heard

something quite common and certainly not absurd

in preparing a child for the first day of school

it is necessary parents abide by the rule

yes, oh yes, the much anticipated, dreaded shot

kicking and screaming - tears flowing, burning hot

innoculate we must from human disease

think of our spiritual selves, if you please

in much the same way a parent holds the kid

and from the doc or nurse the kid can't be hid

that child is wrapped in the arms of love

it's the same with our Savior above

God is the Master Physician and Jesus our guide

from the Lord our God we can not hide

only God can protect us from spiritual disease

take the shot struggling or simply at ease

either way God intends to provide for our needs

healthy is the soul God's advice he heeds

listen to Jesus your Savior above

remember you're wrapped in the arms of love

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
