So Much... A Poem for Me for

So much joy; so much sorrow
I will think about that tomorrow

So much to gain; so much to lose
What matters are the choices I choose

So much hate; so much love
There is so much I am sure of

So much turmoil; so much peace
There will be a time when wars and illness will cease

So much negativity in the world today
God won't give up on us.  No way

Today is my birthday and I choose to celebrate
Another year older and losing weight

We can all do more than we think we can
Only God knows His will and His plan

In this life are many mysteries
In this life are many victories

Celebrate your birthday.  Be glad you're alive
God wants more for you than to survive; thrive

All you have to do is breathe
God will protect you with His glorious sheathe

So do not worry; do not fear
God Almighty is always near

Yes, I choose to celebrate the day of my birth
I know my purpose and I know my worth

Today I am fifty-five years young
There are more songs to my grandchildren that will be sung

There is so much more love to give
I will give love as long as I live

So let it be

Note: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  Isaiah 41:10

This is one of my favorite Bible verses.  I find so much comfort and reassurance in this passage.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
