Forever Mindful

The scourging Christ received
I should have endured...
because the Lamb was slain
my salvation was assured.

They crucified my Savior
on a wooden tree,
and I'm forever mindful
of the price He paid for me!

Jesus bore the stripes
so you and I might live.
to Him all praise and honor
I shall always give.

Though it symbolizes death,
the cross I've come to see

as a perpetual reminder
of my Savior's victory.

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
