Carrying our Cross

Carrying our cross seems hard to bear
and our suffering may seem unfair,
but Jesus walked to Calvary's hill
determined to obey God's will...
The wounds He bore in shame and sorrow,
purchased hope for our tomorrow...
let us bravely bear our cross
without fainting or remorse...

Undaunted by what we see
trusting God exclusively,
though thorns and briars block our way
we press onward day by day...
Remember God's sufficient grace
helps us as we run our race...
we're beacon lights before all men,
privileged to be born again!
With God's message to proclaim
let us glorify His name!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
