Maybe Later

Youthful hours to ponder
years to plan and wonder,
dreams of meeting goals,
climbing ladders, playing roles,
seeking success, so it goes,
attaining wealth an some foes...
accomplishing awesome things,
reaching for brass rings,
then one day time runs out,
so what was it all about?
It all ends in the grave
not one trophy can you save!
but your spirit will live on
long after life on earth is gone.
are you prepared for eternity
or pre-occupied and too busy?
where it's spent you decide,
while you're living on this side.
always thinking, "maybe later",
you'll give thought to the creator!
heaven or hell, where will it be?
with God or satan for eternity!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
