Birds are free in the air
and in water fish are free,
but when men believe God's truth
they can know true liberty.

Jesus paid the price
that set all mankind free,
but most of them are bound
by the chains of slavery.

Held captive by their sin
and satan's endless lies,
thinking they are free but
chained by blinded eyes.

Foolishly they still reject
the gift that God supplied,
thru the blood of Jesus
when on the cross He died!

I pray blind eyes will open
because liberty was won
on the mount called Calvary
thru Jesus Christ God's Son.

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
