Serves No Purpose

SERVES NO PURPOSE

A light hidden under a basket

serves no purpose at all,

like locking the barn door

after the horse leaves the stall,

or opening an umbrella

when the rain stops,

or gathering a harvest

without any crops,

or opening a parachute

when you hit the ground,

or looking for your wallet

after it is found!

So hide not the light

that shines from within,

let Jesus glow brightly

to expose the world's sin.

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
