Flap Your Wings

Mama bird was overheard
motivating her babies,
"it's time to fly, go and try,
you have been set free."

This is the test, leave the nest
start to flap your wings...
you can soar, doubt no more
be happy, chirp and sing!

You've places to go and need to know
although you're on your own,
as you glide, be sure inside
you're never all alone!

Your creator above, surrounds you with love,
wherever winds may blow...
take to flight, in God's sight,
and by His grace you'll grow! (c)

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
