Nip It

Nip It

Juicy little tidbits
the listening ear receives,
but like feathers to the wind
words cannot be retrieved.

She inflicts her venom
that spreads from ear to ear...
a malignant, vile creature
tho harmless may appear.

She can destroy a marriage,
ruin a reputation,
and dissolve a friendship
causing great humiliation.

As a spider spins her web
to catch unwary prey,
gossip casts her net
and traps many everyday.

Give no ear to gossip,
let there be no trace,
Her poison can infect
the entire human race.

Stop the tangled web
that gossip tries to spin...
nip it in the bud
before it can begin!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
