Feast or Famine

Can our hearts be still
in this day and age
when we are surrounded
by terror and rage?

Can we sleep at night
with peace and assurance
when the stresses of life
test our endurance?

Can we smile despite
the turmoil we see
being broadcast each day
over cable TV?

Can we stay composed
thru feast or famine?
Is our profession of faith
secure deep within?

Can we believe in tomorrow
when today is so bleak?
Yes, if Jesus we trust
and His face we seek!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
