Golden Staircase

Golden Staircase

Thru an opening in the stormy sky
appeared a dazzling formation,
what looked like a staircase
as I watched with fascination.

I stared in astonishment
at the sight I saw,
a celestial spectacle
That left me in awe!

It was outlined in gold
and I began to visualize
heaven just beyond there
with my natural eyes.

It was the perfect ending
to a special afternoon,
and I said to myself,
"Jesus, come back soon."

Then I had another thought,
that it was an ideal time
if that golden staircase
I could simply climb!

This really occurred on one Sunday afternoon while visiting family.   The sunny sky turned a deep blue because of an approaching thunderstorm.  The formation was breathtaking, and several others
were also amazed to behold such a beautiful sight!
