Disengaged

Disengaged

Thru the furnace of affliction
we are being refined,
disengaged from our flesh
and worldly things that bind.

Setting our affections
on eternal life with Him,
and as Jesus is magnified,
the world grows strangely dim.

We learn to worship Jesus
despite our present trials,
enduring by His grace
overcoming satan's wiles.

Preparing for a new realm
where there will be no pain,
only peace and joy forever
in God's heavenly domain.

Let the fruit of our lips
give thanks to His name,
and wherever life takes us
God's word we'll proclaim!

Romans 8:17&18 "If so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
