Another Me

Another Me (c)

She cries at the slightest provocation,
no longer has the same motivation...
she's filled with tearful compassion,
mercy, concern and passion.

The things that had her attention
are now not worthy to mention...
material things and worldly pleasures
are replaced by eternal treasures.

She is content with so much less,
appreciates life minus the stress...
when God opened her eyes she saw
He offered a new life worth much more!

Over time she began to submit
to the urgings of the Holy Spirit.
As God removed her carnal heart,
a brand new one Christ did impart!

Now it beats for God's delight
happy to serve Him day and night...
she never thought a life like this
could generate such lasting bliss.

It's hard to believe this person is ME,
the other person is dying you see...
thank God for new life, good-bye to the old,
growing in grace is more precious than gold.

Yes, another me is emerging for good,
the one that God intended should...
Living now so Christ might glow,
by her decision to "let go!"

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
