Have You Been to Calvary

Have you been to Calvary
to die to self today?
for it's thru self denial
that the Lord can have His way!
at the place of crucifixion
we no longer seek our will,
but like Jesus we surrender,
God's purpose to fulfill.
Have you been to Calvary
like God's beloved Son?
it's where death came first
before the victory was won!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
