The Eagle in NYC

Rising from the ashes of despair
The Eagle with ruffled feathers singed
Has flown high into a brighter sky
Of courage, steadfast hope, and strong resolve

Terrorists of every stripe
Will fold their vulture wings of fright
Cowardly, will crawl away into a hellish night
While the global community looks on
Either in awesome tribute or in caustic fear

The Eagle in NYC (c)2002 Quentin Clingerman
