May Day! May Day!

May Day!  May Day!

May first is celebrated by many

The May Day Pole and dance

A tradition going back centuries

Festives to liven up Spring

Rejoicing in all things renewed

There is another use of May Day

As an alarm that something is radically wrong!

In the USA we're hearing it loud and long

Politically incorrect but strong!

Politicians take warning!

There is a May Day call from hearts torn with sin

When directed toward God, the alarm sounds clear

Heaven takes note, for Heaven will hear

Sending aid to the hearts mired in sin

Sending aid to the hearts mired in sin

May Day!  May Day! (c) 2010 Quentin Clingerman
