Intercessory Prayer

God of our Fathers who gave you respect

Calling on you to bless our nation

We come in urgent plea

As a nation we have lost respect for you

Anything goes and any belief is accepted

Our government has taken God from our schools

Attempting to do the same in the military

Playing You down as much as possible

Your Word has been set aside

Wealth and pleasure and power are now national goals

We are paying a very dear price for our godlessness

Especially see it in the national elections this year

in the top candidates for president

Oh God, forgive us our political lethargy

Our lack of concern for the "soul" of America

Bring us to our knees in repentance and confession

And have mercy on us  dear Lord, have mercy on us!

In Christ's name, Amen

Intercessory Prayer (c) 2016     Quentin Clingerman
