Tippy

Our beloved Tippy
A small shorthaired mixed breed
He was a class act for our family indeed!

A year or so old when we got him
He was like a dog of wiser years
Letting children rough him up, even pulling his ears

Only when he was eating did he want left alone
To bother him then he'd snap and growl
I recall one child he made to howl!

He became part of the family in his gentle way
As much an indoor pet as out
He was such a gentle companion to have about

On a necessary trip we left him at relatives to kennel
Hardly had we gone from their home
When the cousins let him out

He evidently was picked up or killed
Attempting to get back to his own home
Tippy was forever more missed!
