In the quiet of a winter evening
With the snow swirling about
I dream of Spring, of daffodils
Of robin red breasts I want to shout

In the quiet of a winter evening
Curled up with an exciting book
Thanking the Lord for a warm indoors
And plenty of soup to cook

In the quiet of a winter evening
Thinking of family and friends
Wondering about war and peace
And what means justify what ends

In the quiet of a winter evening
