Take Time

There will always be another bus
Another day to finalize those plans
Don't rush

Take time to give that extra hug
Or smile and handshake
An extra word of encouragement
Or just listen

A harsh word of criticism NOT spoken
Any needed rebuke most gentle
Will pay dividends,
Far richer than all those stocks and bonds

Take time that there may be no regret
Deeply felt and lingering
For a word unsaid or said in haste
Take time, my friend, before

It is too late

Take Time (c)2000 Quentin Clingerman
