'Tis Advent

Advent, a very special season of the year
Looking forward to the day when God drew especially near
And placed in this old world of sin and shame
His Son, Emmanuel to be his name

A son to grow as common man
Through the village with others he often ran
Grew to listen to His Father's will
Thus died upon a sinner's hill

The sinless Son of God was He
Dying to set from sin all men free
Looking forward to the day when He will come again
Forever with His saints to reign

'Tis Advent (c)2002 Quentin Clingerman
