Peeled

Peeled

The soul is like a tender bud, waiting to pop open
Rising up through sin’s earth, with a layered appearance
The stench of sin’s onion grows layer by layer
Happy with the layered look, styling for the time
Until the stench became unbearable, searching for life lime

God peeled sin’s onion, layer after dreaded layer
The strength from letting go brought tears stinging
Amazingly soul-bud opened eternally
Praising God, who had peeled it free
The choicest lime bought soul-bud eternal time
