Spirit Flying Kite
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

There was a kite flying way up high
Orange in color against a crisp blue sky
Flying high above the ocean's waves
As they slapped happily at the shore
Held to earth by two flimsy strings
Within the owner's hand tightly moored
Wind blowing strongly kite soaring high
My spirit longed to soar with this kite and fly
Become a spirit flying kite against a crisp blue sky
With Jesus as the owner my soul is tightly moored
The spirit flying kite sails upon His shore
Soaring up to Heaven knocking at His door
An open door of His love for my soul belongs
Flying high above His ocean's happy waves
Spirit flying kite connected by His blood that saves
