Breathless World
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

The candle flickered helplessly
Encased within a breathless world
Confined from freedom, suffocation
Gasping to share Christ's crucifixion
The Holy Spirit breathed the breath of life
How come God's candle dimmed from strife

Candle burn from deep within
Don't let satan snuff you out
The power from the Holy Spirit always shouts
Feel Christ Jesus at His well
One small sip for all that ails
His living water frees your chains
His breath of life ignites your flame
Breathless world be gone in Jesus' name

The candle flickered joyfully
Brightly burning endlessly
Amazing what His Holy Spirit can do
Once His water lives inside of you
Drink deep beloved the battle is long
Christ Jesus lives so sing His song
Breathless world has lost its claim
Flicker bright for Jesus' name
