The New Leaf
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

The dried leaf crumbled to the ground
With no golden Spirit breeze blowing down
Love's light lost on the crisp autumn day
All hope gone until Christ Jesus came to stay
The new leaf gleaming with His strength
Gazing at God's glory to go the length
Love's light golden Spirit breeze
Brings the new leaf down unto their knees
Praising God on the crisp autumn day
Safely under His wings but strength to fly away
Light God's world with His Gospel for today
The Holy Spirit enlightens while you pray
Blows the new leaf golden for this day
