Lost Little Turtle
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

I had this little turtle
When I was oh so young
I really loved that turtle
And then some
My uncle caught him
On the end of his fishing pole
Way down in the florida keys
Brought him back and gave him to me
I got him a bowl with a palm tree
Put him out in the sun
Then that little green turtle
Left, got lost, ran away from me

Just like that little green turtle
I too got lost, ran away from
God my keeper, who really loves me
But unlike the little turtle
I searched and found my way back
To my Father, His love never lacks
To bring those lost around
Keep them on His blessed track
Thank You dear Father of love
Way up in the Heavens above
For loving a lost little soul like me
More than I loved that little green turtle
From way down in the florida keys
