Eurayna's Poem

Note: I wrote this poem last Christmas for my best friend who has terminal cancer. She's still with me but it's a matter of time.

You've blessed me with your friendship, throughout another year.
I don't know how to tell you, that to me you are so dear.
I know this Christmas season's not all that it could be,
Yet sweeter is our friendship, such a friend you've been to me.
This season is for knowing, that love is all around,
And love, my friend is all that counts wherever it is found.
I bless the day I met you, the laughter we have known,
Through the years you've kept me from being so alone.
No matter what the New Year brings, I know it's in HIS hands...
Life is but a blink in time, and like the shifting sands.
And when the winds of living, shift in saddened ways,
We always know He's with us, to walk us through the maze.
And though you feel you walk alone, along this rocky road,
Remember Jesus walks with you to lighten every load.
This season's celebration of a Babe, Messiah, King...
Let His light subdue the shadows and hear the angel chorus sing!
