Lonesome Soul

Summer nights and silence, hand in hand we stroll,
Moonlit night and starlit sky...lonesome is my soul.
Ever searching onward, hope reigns in my sight,
Somewhere 'neath the heavens, sleeps my someone right.

Peacefully he slumbers....dreams of me unknown,
Nestled in our separate worlds..both of us alone.
Maybe fate will touch us, our hearts will know it's true,
Our eyes will lock across the room and I will know it's you.

You'll see my soul inside me, drawn to know my name,
I'll see your soul inside you, the embers and the flame.
I only hope you notice, how fragile are my dreams,
Broken into pieces with many heartless schemes.

I only hope I see you, the part of you that's real,
I only hope I understand all the things you feel.
I only hope we take that step to reach out through that space
And walk toward all we've longed for, together face to face.

Summer nights and silence, hand in hand we stroll,
Moonlit night and starlit sky...lonesome is my soul.
Ever searching onward as you sleep 'neath stars tonight,
I'll look for you tomorrow, hope ever reigns in sight.
