Drifting

Drifting

Drifting on the sands of time,
Shifting words to make them rhyme.
While away the hours, the days,
Winding through life's twisting maze.
Watch the world go swiftly by,
Where do they go....and why?
Busy, busy, gotta go...
Streams of traffic, hurried flow.
I sit and stare and often muse,
Is life a game...a mindless ruse?
To fill our time with endless chores,
A constant spin..revolving doors.
I watch them pass me everyday,
Phone to ear...so much to say.
Tunes emit from oddest places...
Some even show our faces.
But in my world of observation,
There's too much "go 'n conversation."
I'd rather watch this hurried pace,
Than join you in your frantic race.
So drifting on the sands of time,
I'll shift these words to make them rhyme.
