Lifetime
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

What is a lifetime? Well, it's not what you suppose.
It doesn't start the day you're born, then death brings it to a close.

Few things last a "lifetime"...I mean until we die;
We cannot KEEP the things we love...no matter how we try.

We say we'll spend a lifetime...together, you and me,
Which lifetime will fall short of this, we have to wait and see.

Who will venture on that path that we must walk alone?
To start another lifetime, to make it on our own.

I always thought a lifetime meant mine ended when I died,
I never thought it'd start again with all the tears I've cried.

OUR lifetime now has ended but another waits for me,
Although I walk with heavy heart, I know it has to be.

I may spend this lifetime, alone as I surmise,
But God may have a different thought, much to my surprise.
But no matter how I live it, no matter how I try,
God surely holds my "Lifetimes" until the day I die.
