LACE 'N PEARLS 'N PETALS..


Of lace 'n pearls 'n petals
upon my little shelf,
none speak of who I really am,
simply by itself.
For like this heart inside me,
surrounded by this shell,
to look upon the outward me
alone there's naught to tell.

The lace is but a 'pretty'
that dresses me in style,
to give you an impression...
to woo, attract...beguile.

The petals of this flowering soul
when closed they will conceal,
the beauty of my inner self
unfolding to reveal....

the pearls that glisten brightly,
that's my spirit don't you see?
of lace 'n pearls 'n petals...
they make up all of me.
