Not What it Seems........

Silence... stillness.....
peace on every side,
these are what I longed for,
in quietness abide.
A home that held no tension
or stress o'er future gain,
no watching for a fearful look
or one that held such pain.

All the peace I longed for
the still and silent days,
are mine to live in solitude
free from others ways.

No friction on the homefront
No compromise at all,
Silence my companion
Stillness overall.

A house that's always tidy,
with time that's all my own,
quietness surrounds me...
but no peace is in this home.

I find that 'peace' and 'quiet'
just aren't the same,
"quiet" is just silence
so "peace" should be my aim.

Solitude and stillness
aren't peace so don't be fooled
by thinking others have it made
to live by their own rules,
to not have to compromise
to someone else's needs,
to think I have such freedom
is a life that will impede
the things that God intended
for me to do His will,
sometimes all that stillness
is impossible to fill
for those who need the heartbeat
of a special one to love,
I pray He hears my lonely cry
in His throne room up above.
