In loving memory of my husband, Wayne, who went home to be with the Lord February 8, 2003.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My loved one took a journey...so quickly he was gone;
I know he meant to say good-bye before he travelled home.
But if we'd had the time to say all t'was in our hearts,
Then he surely would have suffered before he could depart.
We didn't know the end was near but God in wonderous ways,
Filled our last many weeks with healing, loving days.
God's loving Grace abounded and He restored our flame of love,
Yet I wouldn't wish him back to me from his journey up above.
Yes, my heart feels sad and empty and I'll miss him everyday,
But the joy to know his destiny will always light my way.
This Light will always give me strength as I journey on my own,
This Light is strength and power and love as I travel on to home.
