Christmas Snow

The leaves are gone, the trees are bare,
cold winds circle and fuss with my hair.
Drizzle and snowflakes becoming the norm,
nor'easters usually bring us a storm.

Sun is blazing...sky so blue,
hard to remember 92!!
When outside my window it looks so nice
but yesterdays rains
turned the puddles to ice.

November's transition to winter is slow,
rain and wind and seldom much snow.
December we're watching like children at play
for snowflakes to hasten and bring inches our way.
And although we grumble when we have to plow,
the snow that has fallen has touched us somehow
and inside we chuckle as we shovel the snow,
the kid in our hearts can't help but grow
and snowballs and snowmen, oh what a sight...
we all want our Christmas to be fluffy and white.
