Hope and Healing

Just thinking of you, and I want to slip in,
To ask from my heart, "How have you been?"
Wondering if you’re really doing ok,
And leave you a prayer for a wonderful day.
Hoping each day is healing for you,
And soon you'll come back, refreshed and anew.
I know as you flounder, just how you feel,
Because I've walked that road
And it's a hard deal.
But time will soften the edges of pain,
Just believe in yourself… let me explain...
Though memory fades and becomes muted with age,
As we travel through grief from stage to stage,
Sometime upwards...sometimes down...
Sometimes smiling...sometimes with a frown.
We all travel differently through this grieving space...
And we all travel at our very own pace.
That "magic" number for my hearts' about three....
But for you and others that may not be.
Some it is one year and others, much more,
But down that road you'll heal and restore,
'cause that's how God in His wonderful way,
Walks with his children through every hard day...
And hand in hand when healings' begun
There will come a day when once again you will
Walk in the sun.
