Love Is Worth Finding!

During this course of life, many

thoughts entering my mind.

There's been good and bad thoughts of every kind!

During much of my life, I’ve taken it for granted…

The Godly instructions, from my

 parents, that were "planted."

I wasn't "prepared,"  for what was to come.

Very soon, what a mess my life had become!

I found myself with many "invitations."

And soon began  "entertaining" temptations.

Partying was now

 "part of the game."

I soon forgot who I was! And couldn’t

remember my name.

There were many nights... I'd lay awake and cry.

Praying to God, to; "just let me die."

I remembered the words my

parents often spoke to me.

Their words of love and prayer,

 I now "began to see."

How could I trade all the good things I once had?

I felt so beat up, discouraged and sad.

My father came into my room

one day and hugged me tight.

He and mom spent all day with me...

 and the next night.

They told me of  Jesus’ love

 and redeeming grace.

I had a big smile "all over my face."

I remembered... as a child... inviting Jesus in!

I confessed to Jesus and asked

 for forgiveness of sins!

He came in and cleansed my life throughout.

Now I know what Christian living is all about!

It's a daily walk with Jesus and loving

 him more and more!

He’s most precious to me!

And is worth living for!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
