As I Look Back on the Life I've Liv

As I Look Back On The Life I’ve Lived…

As I look back  I think of what God’s done for me…

If not for his grace…

I’m not sure where I’d be!

As I look back… ! think of many “wasted years…”

I think of the many struggles,

 trials and tears.

As I look back And think of the many things I did…

I’m not always happy with

 the way I’ve lived!

As I look back Reflecting on the passing of time…

I’m here today with a lot of

 “uncertainty” on my mind.

I’m going to look ahead And make this my ambition…

To seek God’s will and word,

 for a new direction!

As I look ahead Serving Christ will be my goal!

And obey his commands with

my body, mind and soul!

As I look ahead May God’s love be my inspiration!

I want to serve him and give him

 my full attention!

As I look ahead  ! want God’s peace to surround me!

May his spirit and presence

 be all around me!

As I look ahead  May I serve others in whatever I do!

As my way of expressing to God;

 “I love you!”

As I look ahead,…  May my treasures in heaven abound!

May the light of Jesus shine all over town!

As I look ahead  May God’s mercy

 flow continually!

As one day soon…

I’ll be with HIM for eternity!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
