I'm Almost at Life's Dead End Road.

I’m Almost At the End of Life’s Road…

I’ve been to where

I thought my life would end.

I felt alone...  With no one I could

 call “friend.”

I’ve been to where

I felt “trapped within.”

The emptiness I felt...  I don’t

know where to begin.

I’ve been to what I would call;

 “life’s dead end road.”

I felt like I was carrying

 “a heavy load.”

I’ve been to a place

 down on my knees…

Wondering if there was anyone

 that I could believe.

I’ve been having discouraging

 thoughts enter my mind.

Any true peace or joy…

I haven’t been able to find.

I’ve had time and giving it

 some thought…

What kind of life…

 Have I got?

The things I desired and have obtained…

They come and go as quickly

 as they came.

I read in the Bible where Jesus

can give true contentment.

A life filled with true joy,

 peace and fulfillment.

Thank you Lord for giving

what no one else could give.

I know you are with me,

 each day I live!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
