A Tale of Two Brothers...

A Tale Of Two Brothers…

There was two brothers, whom the Bible was taught.

The older decided to follow Jesus.  The younger did not.

Over a period of time, the two became divided.

They had two different lifestyles that were decided.

The older kept on for Jesus and made this clear.

The younger brother’s life began to disappear.

The younger brother broke his parent’s heart.

After the years, his family seemed to fall apart.

He wouldn’t talk to his brother for any reason.

This would last over a period of many seasons.

The older prayed for him no matter the cost.

He knew that without Jesus, we’re all lost.

No matter how much the younger complained.

The older one lifted him up in Jesus’ name!

One day, the younger confessed his sinful ways.

He looked up to heaven and gave Jesus praise!

He sought for his life, God’s love and direction.

He began to serve Jesus with love and dedication.

He thanked his brother for his prayers as well.

His older brother loved him. He could tell!

The brothers got together, before one passed away.

One remained, while the other could not stay.

The one remaining looked back and shed a tear…

His brother he once had,

just “disappeared.”

Let’s not give up on our brother,..

  Time is running out.

Let’s remember Jesus and what

 his love is all about!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
