God Asked a Question... I

God Asked A Question…  I Didn’t Know What To Say…

God asked a question.  It was just the other day.!

He asked; “have you taken time for me

in what you do and say?”

I thought about this for a moment…

Then I cried and wept.

The promises I once made to God.

 I no longer kept!

I remembered a time when my life

was sinking downhill fast.

No matter how much I tried,

I couldn’t forget the past!

I was at death’s door...  With the moments

of life, just a few.

I didn’t know “what in the world,” I was going to do!

One night I cried out loud in hopelessness and desperation.

I soon received a message with a heavenly visitation!

Jesus appeared before me!  His hand touched my head!

I felt so much better!  I jumped out of bed!

I was so happy!  I cried and felt tears roll down my cheek!

I took time to spend with God all the rest of the week!

But as the months went by, my time

 with God was shortened.

Having time alone with him?.

I didn’t feel this was “important.”

I now look back and think of what I was becoming…

I’m not sure if I’m ready for Christ’ second coming!

Lord Jesus, I kneel down, and come before your throne,

I ask you to be my Lord.  Of all my life and home!

I’m sorry Lord Jesus for the promises

 I made, but were broken!

“Please forgive me dear Jesus.”

Are the words I have spoken!

You are the lord for me and I need

you more than ever!

I want to be with you and live in heaven forever!

You’re the one who’s blessed me!

 Yes indeed!

You are me Lord and savior

and are all I ever need!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
