I Shall Stand Before God!

I Shall Stand Before God!

What will I do or say...

As I strand before God

 one day?

Will I have done my best?

 This I often doubt.

As to God...  I'll give a full account.

For this life will I be

proud or ashamed?

That day God calls

out my name?

His son gave his life

 that I may live.

What... in exchange...

did I really gie?

I know Jesus is here to help

 me each day.

When I need help...

he'll make a way!

As Christ' blood

in my life is applied.

There'll be nothing

in me to hide.

In answering to him the way

 I've been livin.'

And accepting his precious blood...

 I am forgiven!

For Jesus... I'll keep trying my best.

So... on that day... He'll say;

"enter my haven of rest."

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
